My last baking experiment for 2011 is to ring in the New Year with them Red Velvet Cupcakes. A pop of red colors and cream cheese mMm. Recipe adapted from All Recipe
Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in one bowl.
Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat the eggs into the mixture one at a time. Add the buttermilk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Combine the vingar and baking powder together and add to the mixture. Slowing add the dry ingredients into the mixture.
Bake for 20 minutes at 325F
The cupcake is topped with a light Cream Cheese frosting same recipe as the one I used for the Cookies and Cream Cupcakes earlier.
